Immigration Tips

With the frequent changes in immigration laws, many employers and employees are concerned about their liability pertaining to the employment in the United States. This web page has been prepared to help answer some of the questions both employers and employees might have as they relate to the international work force.

Pharmacist-CA believes that international employees can offer employers a wide range of skills and abilities. We encourage employers to consider hiring an international employee for the cultural and practical benefits they can bring to an organization. Obtaining permission for them to work in the U.S. is not as difficult as many employers and employees have been led to believe.

International workers need to have a work visa in order to work in the U.S. If the international worker is still in school, they will have an F-1 or a J-1 visa, which will limit their capabilities to work. After the prospective employee has graduated, with the help of the employer, he/she may receive an H-1B Visa.
